The Soul of a Nation

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
1Timothy 2:1-2

What makes a Country great?
No question, it is tied to its spiritual quality.
Consider these words from our Founding Fathers.

Samuel Adams: "Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity."

Patrick Henry: " It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this reason, people of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity and freedom of worship here."

John Jay:" We've staked the future of all out political institutions upon our capacity to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Our earliest leaders committed their work to God. We can't make that same choice for all our fellow citizens, but we can make it for ourselves.

I choose to follow God in Everything that I do, how bout you?

Let Freedom Ring!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!

Blessings,

Hi Amy! I wish our local paper had your quotes to print. Instead, they printed quotes from the founding fathers that really put down faith. It was so surprising!

I guess there is a movement in the country to take "In God We Trust" off the coins and paper money. Give me a break!

Timely post for me, my friend. Gives me hope :)

Happy Friday,

Yes, there is something about the title of founding Fathers. I must ask myself will I be a citizen that will take a stand?
GOD BLESS AMERICA
