Chocolate Pudding Cake...

This year for my son Noah's 7th Birthday, he wanted a chocolate cake.
So, I was trying to come up with something totally different and a little less sweet.
And this is what I came up with and it is so DELICIOUS!

Chocolate Pudding Cake
1 box Chocolate Cake Mix
1 small box of Chocolate Instant Pudding
Homemade Whip Cream for top

Bake cake mix according to directions on the box.  Let cool for about 10-15 minutes.
Poke holes in cake with a wooden spoon handle.
In a medium size bowl, make your instant pudding.
Wait about 3 minutes, stir pudding and then pour over the chocolate cake.
Next, make up your homemade whipping cream or you could use thawed cool whip.
Spoon on the whipped cream and carefully spread evenly over the top of your pudding.
Place cake in fridge until cold.

TA DA...... You have a cold chocolate cake that is just heavenly!
The one thing that I just love about this cake, is it isn't too overly sweet.
And if you don't want chocolate, you can use a vanilla cake with a vanilla pudding
or you could get real creative and do a whole new flavor combo!
It's one of those cakes that you will continue to make again and again!
I Promise!
Happy Baking,

Dear Amy, I must admit this is such a yummy cake! You are right, it is not too sweet either. I like it because it is a cold cake it just hits the spot! This would be great for a Valentine cup cake :)

Good Morning Amy,
As I told Rox, I am sitting here in Sunny Arizona and sipping my coffee and thinking of you. I did actually see this wonderful recipe of yours last night, but didn't have one word left to say… but this morning, well, I am back on track, and this is just a perfect looking cake. I think those are my two buttons… chocolate cake, and chocolate pudding, putting them together is the bomb. Gotta give it a try. Hope you have a wonderful week. Hope your wind doesn't blow any more, and you have some beautiful sunshine.
Love and Blessings,
Pam

Hi Amy! It's so good to see you again! I was on a month long blogbreak, and I'm ready to get going again.
Love this cake! No vanilla for me, the chocolate will do nicely :) Noah is a lucky young man. And I bet the pudding makes it so moist too :)
I am in a new blog home. I'm now at www.ceilryan.com
It was a big move, but I hope I'll get used to the new platform in the months ahead.
Happy Tuesday my friend!

PS Between your mother-in-law's blog and yours, I find that I am VERY hungry!!

I'm trying to drop some pounds, so this is a just a temptation for me. ~smile~

I do like your little sign on the side that says, "Where there's tea, there's hope." Of course, we know that our true hope comes from Christ, but tea helps!

Happy today!

WOW!! This recipe looks and sounds AMAZING!! I love the idea of it and how simple it is! I cannot believe Noah is already 7 years old!!! I remember when he was just a little tike! Thank you for sharing his Birthday cake with us... You are right, there are so many different variations you could do with it. But I think you hit it on the nail choosing chocolate :)
