Vanilla Caramel Sauce...

With Valentine's Day fast approaching...

I always make up a batch of
homemade vanilla caramel sauce for my sweetheart!

This sauce is so yummy, you will never
 buy store bought ever again!

It's that good... Trust Me!

First off...
You need a large saucepan
and 1 cup of sugar

Turn on stove to medium heat and let sugar begin to melt.
Watch closely so the sugar doesn't get to brown too quickly and burn.

Your sugar should melt and turn a golden amber color
Like this...

Next, you will stir in your 1 1/4 cup heavy cream & 1 vanilla bean
or 1 tsp. vanilla into the pan with the melted sugar.

Stir quickly, your sugar will clump once you
pour the cold milk mixture into the sugar.
That's okay, keep stirring.
It takes awhile to get the clump of hardened sugar to melt.
Don't give up, just keep stirring!

Once your sauce is all combined, let it cool.
Pour into a jar and store in the refrigerator
until ready to use.

This sauce is perfect over ice cream,
cream puffs, cake
and even apples!

Mmm... Doesn't it look heavenly?

I hope you try it for yourself!

Vanilla Caramel Sauce

1 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. heavy cream
1 vanilla bean, split or 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
dash of salt

Measure the heavy cream and add the vanilla, set aside.
Spread the sugar into your saucepan evenly.
Turn on your stove to medium heat and let the sugar begin to melt.
Lower the heat if the sugar begins to melt too quickly.

Remove the melted sugar from the heat and
stir in the vanilla and heavy cream mixture.
If the sugar starts to clump, place it back on low
heat and stir until its all combined and smooth.

Take saucepan back off heat and
let the caramel sauce cool completely.

Store in a jar and keep in the fridge.

I hope you all have a Wonderful
Valentine's Week!

Blessings,

Caramel sauce has to be one of my favorite toppings, next to chocolate of course, lol! I haven't made this recipe with browning the sugar. I'm going to try it! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Hi Amy! I agree with Spicing, next to chocolate, give me caramel sauce. Your photos look so enticing, I almost want to go off my diet!
My husband and I have been on South Beach since September, so breads and sweets are a memory. But, when we get where we are going, I'm gonna make this. I've made caramelized nuts, so I am familiar with the melting sugar, which is the trickiest part, I think.

Nice to see you! Thank you for your visit today too :)

and thank you for your powerful prayers...

It looks delicious Amy. Thanks for sharing. I hope you had a lovely Valentines Day. I missed you. I am here in North Carolina, visiting Nathan and Himilce and the kids. Did you guys do a party or anything with Missy this year? I'm sure Barry loved your beautiful Caramel. Have a great week.
Love you,
Pam

This looks way too yummy! I made caramel sauce with Swerve the other night, but I wasn't impressed. I just like sugar too much.
