DIY Liquid Hand Soap...

Getting Creative...God's Grace Overflows

I Love Homemade Soaps!

My girlfriend taught me last year how to make bar soap
and this year I learned how to make the liquid soap from the homemade bars.

I am in love with this soap!

It's so nice to be able to make something from scratch.
To really get those creative juices flowing is huge, in my opinion.

I don't have to do everything this way,
but I enjoy learning new things.

After all, we learn something new daily, right?

Have you ever tried your hand at making homemade bar soap?
Liquid Soap?

I have made homemade laundry soap and fabric softener too!

I have a folder that I keep of all my
DIY Household  Products and Remedies in.

It's nice to have, if I ever had to rely on making everything from scratch.
I would rather be prepared and have the recipe on hand than not!

Here's the recipe if you would like to give it a try.

DIY Liquid Hand Soap

4-4 oz. bar soap
1 gallon of water
2 Tbsp. vegetable glycerin
20 drops of essential oils
(if using your homemade bar soap, you won't have to add extra oils)
empty containers with soap pumps

Pour your gallon of water into a large saucepan.
Boil your water.

Cut up your bars of soap or use a cheese grater.
Stir into your saucepan.
(Sorry, I didn't get a photo of the cut up soap)

Soap Making with God's Grace Overflows

Stir continuously until fully incorporated.
Mix in the glycerin.

Turn off heat and allow your soap to cool.
Then stir in your essentials oils.

Let set overnight.
Mix again with either a whisk or a hand mixer.

Pour into the gallon container the water came in, until ready to use.

I noticed when using the homemade bar soap, my liquid soap
turned out a bit thin, so I added in another 2 bars of grated soap
and then it seemed to thicken up a bit more.

Just play with your recipe, until you get it to your desired thickness.
If by chance you make it to thick,
just stir in some water about a 1/4 c. at a time.

Pretty Labels and lovely scent...God's Grace Overflows

I used some of my old soap dispensers
and I bought a few new soap bottles.

This was a lot of fun and I just Love my soap!

I love homemade soaps and laundry detergents, and have tried a few. Marie and Elizabeth have made liquid hand soap and love it. I look forward to trying it one of these days. Yours looks just lovely. I can almost smell it now. I'm like you; I think it is great to try these kinds of things. Thanks for sharing Amy.
Love you

Oh, cherry almond soap sounds wonderful! I love those two scents mixed together...maybe it's because it reminds me of yummy cherry pie :) hee hee

I would love to make soap and may have to try my hand at this. Thank you so much, sweet friend, for sharing with Roses of Inspiration - I truly appreciate it. Hugs to you!

This recipe sounds so easy, that I just need to try it! It looks like it makes a lot too, 1 gallon! That is enough soup to last for a good while! Thanks for your excellent directions, and tutorial. I will stow this one away in my binder of "to-do" do-it-yourself projects! (I have one too, lol!)

Blessings to you and your family today :)
