Hello Friends!
How are you all doing? How is August treating you?
It's been really hot here!
We have had company off and on all last week,
so I am feeling a bit tired and on the
constant go for one thing or another.
I am ready for some normalcy...
But, I think I might need to wait on that
for I have another few busy weeks ahead!
So, this here pie is something that my youngest son created.
He is only 8 years old!
It's a blueberry lemon pie!
And, believe it or not it tasted really good.
We first started off by making a graham cracker crust
Then he made a instant lemon pudding
Layered with fresh blueberries
And topped it with some homemade whipped cream
Then decorated the top with more blueberries
Didn't he do a great job?
Now if only you could have tasted it...
The combination of lemon and blueberries worked
and he didn't try to add in some strange fruits or veggies!
Because he has done that before!
(Smiles)
I've been the taste tester for many of his creations
and I gave him an A+!
He can also cook his own eggs
He makes Ramen Noodles like they are going out of style
and well...he just loves to cook with me!
And I just Love that he Loves being in the kitchen with me
creating memories and enjoying each others company!
Isn't that what life is all about??
Do you let your kids cook/bake with you in the kitchen?
What's the best thing your child has made?
I just LOVE all the memories that have been created
throughout the years!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see me!
HUGS!

The pie looks yummy! I just love it when Megan tags along with me in the kitchen. I really need to let her start using the stove more, but she scares me! She tends to go full force and doesn't always think things through completely. A work in progress for sure!
Oh, dear Amy... What a joy it must have been for your young son to create with you in the kitchen! He will treasure these memories as long as he lives!
Oh, I remember the days my dear mom and I would work in the kitchen together...back then she was teaching me and instilled a deep love for both cooking and baking in my mind! Now we still enjoy working together in the kitchen preserving, cooking or baking...we make a great team!! How wonderful that she invested time and energy in my young life, for it is a true blessing now that I am older! Most days my sister and I take turns doing the cooking as we enjoy it so much!
Ah...and this lemon blueberry pie looks utterly too delicious for words! Beautiful presentation too! {{smiles}} Hmm...I love lemon!!
Enjoy these special moments, Amy! And I hope you find some lovely time for a rest...or even a cup of tea!
Sending love and smiles your way...

He did Great! That pie looks yummy!
I LOVE blueberries and lemon together...he did a fantastic job! He just may grow up to a famous chef! How wonderful that he loved to cook. Both of my boys grill, of course but Aaron really like to cook and makes some awesome soups in cool weather! Thank you for the sweet and kind comments on my post, Amy, and your prayers are certainly appreciated! Have a blessed week!
How absolutely scrumptious it looks and sounds! How wonderful that he loves to cook with you! All of my children love to be in the kitchen with me and there are some creations that, well....leave a lot to be desired. But then there are amazing things that are eaten up all to quickly. I love how life is all about the details, of moments shared and the blessings of the Lord! I can't think of the best things that my kids have made, but that each of them knows their way around the kitchen and are willing to modify recipes to suit their taste is so fun!
I hope you have a delightful day! and perhaps your son will make that delicious pie for you again! :)
Hope you get some rest soon! The pie looks wonderful. My mom makes lemon blueberry desserts a lot. Yummy! I wanted to let you know that your comment on my blog a couple weeks ago showed up as a no reply. Thanks for stopping by though! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Vicky
What a joy to be able to spend this precious time in the kitchen with your son! The blueberry lemon combination looks wonderful, and I think an A+ is absolutely deserved, even without a taste test! :) It is always a blessing to have help in the kitchen, and to be able to work together to create wonderful meals and memories for the family, and I do think you might just have a future chef on your hands, wouldn't that be exciting someday! Hugs to you, and I hope that you are enjoying all that summer has to offer, and of course, looking forward to the slow paced days of life again, coming soon, lol! :)
So, would your little guy like to come and cook for me? ~grin~
I have to make a nice dessert for a potluck tomorrow night.
Be blessed friend!
