Finding Joy In The Everyday...

God's Grace Overflows

Long time no write....

I am finding more and more Joys in my everyday.
It's been busy around here since well, forever!

I have a hard time concentrating long
 enough to get on the computer these days.

I always have more things on the top of my list each day
and getting on the computer to do anything
 seems more like a chore.
(Smiles)

Especially when you have a smart phone.
It's easier to use it than it is to turn on the ol' computer!
Ha!

So, instead of making this post long and boring,
I thought I'd share my Joys as of late.

My oldest son got married this March!

I am blessed to finally have
 a sweet and precious daughter!
We just adore her!

The wedding took most of my February and March up.
It was fun to plan and see how everything came together.

Now, we are all adjusting to the new changes...
We are so excited to see them growing together as One!
God sure did pick the perfect couple.

This has been one of my biggest JOYS!

My other two boys are just getting so big!
They have quite the personalities these two.
Never a dull moment and they always keep me on my toes.
I just love my boys!

They are finished with school for the Summer
and we have lots of fun things planned.
So looking forward to a long trip away!

I'm enjoying all the pretty flowers...

And taking JOY in each one that blooms...

And waiting for our Summer adventure to begin....

I find being at home very joyful this year.
I love having coffee and conversation with my mom in love.
Enjoying a visit with my mom.
Reading a good book.
Watching a movie.
Hanging out with my family.
Sunday dinners.
Working in the yard.
Spending time with my hubby.
Planning little trips here and there.
Hanging out with my son and daughter in love.
Taking a walk.
Eating popsicles under the trees.
And the list goes on and on....

What Joys have you found in your days??

I hope you all have a wonderful
Summer full of Joy and Happiness!

Until Next Time,

AMY

My Joys...

God's Grace Overflows

Just popping in real quick
to say Hello!

This blogging thing is getting harder and harder for me to do.
I'm not sure how much I'll get on, but you may see me more
on Instagram and Facebook these days.

Somedays, to actually sit physically at the computer, is really hard!

I have this thing called squirrel disorder and I have
 been easily distracted by many things all at once!
Watch out, it is contagious!!

Any who, with December now here, I am oh so busy,
which I'm sure you are all too!

But I am so grateful to be busy...
Yes, busy can be so overrated, but non the less I am grateful.

The Joys of the Christmas season are wonderful.
I've been blessed with many great things.
I've had many gatherings all ready with friends and family.
Lots of sweet treats made to share.
Many days of laughter and cheer.
Watched a few sappy Christmas movies.
Watched several funny Christmas movies.
Wrapped many gifts.
Reading and enjoying the day with my boys!
Going here and going there.

I am so thankful for all these Joys!

And my biggest Joy of all is the love of Jesus Christ
and all that this holiday season stands for!

After all, Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for reading my blog,
it still means the world to me!

Hugs,
AMY

Carrying On...

Hello!  It's been awhile and I thought to myself
I have a minute to share
 something quick with you all.
(Smiles)

It's been one crazy busy summer.

Going here and there and filling our
 days with lots of activities.

Camping
Fishing
Swimming
BBQ's
Hanging out with friends & family

The one and only thing I can truly say about this summer is
 that I am so OVER this heat!
And this humidity has been awful.
You have to remember we live in this desert place
where high humidity is very uncommon.

But, we carry on.
 Cause in Reality, there is nothing we
can do about the heat or humidity.

I woke up this morning with hardly a voice
and I thought what the heck!

Oh well...guess I'm meant to stay quiet today.
And that's okay, I'm carrying on..

Some things are completely out of our control
and we need to accept the things we can not change.

We need to Carry On...

We need to Carry On and ask God to handle the things
that we simply can not do ourselves.

So many people are struggling with all sorts of things,
health, bills, worries, fears, anxiety,uncertainties of the future
and the list goes on...

I'm telling you, we still have to Carry On with our days.

God has got all these things covered.
Trust Him,
 Lay them down and Carry On!

Don't let the struggles of yesterday, your past,
today, the week, the month
heck even the years to come
Define You!

God is defining you, let Him do His job and
CARRY ON!

Okay I feel better now....

I hope this post encourages you and inspires you.
Sometimes we all need a little reminder
that God is in control of all things!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Until next time.....

HUGS & BLESSINGS,

AMY

Teach them to Cook...

Good Day!! How is your week treating you?

We are doing good here. Enjoying the warmth of the days
and trying to get outside when the wind isn't blowing.
Which...some days that is a challenge!

The weather is suppose to be in the high 70's
and then low 80's with wind...oh goody!  I can hardly wait!
(enter sarcasm here)

So, on days that the wind blows you to Kansas,
I try to find things to catch up on in the house
or I like to bake.

I love it when I find my helpers wanting
 to bake or cook along side me.
I find great joy in it!

I'll let them create a special treat for the family to try
and sometimes we judge the meal or treat
 for some good ol' fashion fun!
(like being on Chopped)
We  I watch a lot of cooking shows and of course
 the kids baking shows.
I love that there are kids that love to create through baking.

We've got to get inspired somehow....

Awhile back, I showed the boys how to make crepes.
We did a lot of laughing as we were trying
 to master the flipping of the crepes.

Each one of them tried their hardest to
flip it without it landing on the floor.

Some, well....never made it back to the pan...

And others were airborne!

After many flips and flops,
we managed to get several made.

I must admit to you, that my oldest son
is now a pro at making crepes.
When he wants crepes, he makes them.
I gladly gave up that job,
They are a lot of work!
(Wink inserted here)

And after it's all said and done,
we spent time together creating something yummy
and making special memories!!

I think it's very important to teach our children how to
cook and to clean. We are giving them such a gift
that they can and will use daily!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I love the time spent with my boys.
I love to see the spark of creativity in them.

And oh boy, have I eaten some interesting food concoctions...
But, I wouldn't change any of it for anything!

Do your children like to cook in the kitchen with you?

I hope you all have a great week!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

HUGS,

Mondays...A Fresh Start....

God's Grace Overflows

Mondays
Every time a new week comes around I am reminded of
the Scripture in Lamentations 3:22-23

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed
for His compassion's never fail,
They are new every morning
great is your faithfulness.

I love this scripture as it just goes to
 show that God is truly for us.
He helps us get through anything
 that we might face.

Mondays seem so hard for me.
As I try to catch up on things
I might have pushed aside through the weekends.
When my hubby is home, my routine changes
to accommodate him and the chores that need done.

We work great as a team to get things done around our home.
The boys help when they can (which is often)
 and when it's nice outside,
we are outside!!

We have been doing a little remodeling
and upgrading our new camper.
So, that has been taking up a lot of my weekend time.

Once it's all finished,
 I'll post some before and after pictures!

So, as Monday is here and that time change
 really seemed to mess with my sleep
I feel a bit slower than usual.
Maybe turtle speed is more like it... Ha!

Any who, Monday is here and a new week has begun...
and I am so glad His Mercies are New Every Morning!

I saw this quote the other day and I just loved what it said!

I hope you find great comfort in the new week!

Thanks so much for stopping by....

Did You Know?...

Well Hello there!!
It's a new month and I'm inviting it with open arms!!
A clean slate perhaps...

I'm ready for something new and something fun!

How bout you?

I thought I'd try something a little new and fun on this post.
I thought I would tell you all a little about me.
Would you like that?

I don't think I've done anything like that ever on here
and you are all probably wondering who I really am.
Yes? No? Don't care?
Oh well...you get to take a glimpse anyways...
Ready?

God's Grace Overflows

I absolutely LOVE Sunflowers!!
They are such a happy flower!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to can!
Over the years I've canned jelly, jams, dill relish, green chilies,
potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fruit syrups, fruit butters,
chicken, beef, salsa, spaghetti sauce and a whole lot more!
Everything is made with LOVE!!
(Which is the key ingredient if you didn't know)

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE Cowboys and their Boots!
I'm a Boy Mom and I LOVE it!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE the color RED!!
Red is such a cheery color!
I love Red so much I painted my kitchen
 and all my outdoor decor red!

Panda Bears are my favorite animal!
They are just so cute and cuddly.

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE Butterflies...
Need I say more?

God's Grace Overflows

I enjoy being in the great outdoors
especially with my favorite peeps!

I'm not much of a hiker, but since I'm a Boy mom
I do try really hard to keep up with them.
I'm a bit of a klutz, so some hikes I come back
with many bruises and scratches.
My hubby always calls me graceful...

I love to four wheel....
I've been on many four wheeling adventures!!
Too many to count!
And I'm NOT a thrill seeker
I just enjoy climbing a simple dirt or mud hill once in awhile.
But...let's just say some of these adventures
 I had to pray my way through.
I'm still here, so God must have answered those prayers!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to fish!
Stream fishing is fast paced
and lake fishing is learning patience
(which I have a lot of)
I don't however like to take the fish off the hook!
No thank you!
Thank goodness for a hubby that doesn't mind helping me out!

God's Grace Overflows

Sometimes you just need to stand on top
 of the world to get a better view!
I LOVE exploring!
(No this isn't me, I don't really like heights much)
Just ask my hubby...
I can get to the third step of the ladder and that's it, folks!
Heights and me= Nausea, panic...

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to take scenic photos!
I'm getting quite good at my camera now too!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE taking new roads! Breaking new trails!
These roads ALWAYS lead to adventures!!
Trust me on this one! Wink!

God's Grace Overflows

Aspens are my favorite trees!
They are so skinny and tall and so peaceful!
Just like me!!
I'm 6 feet tall and at times I can be peaceful.
HA!
I used to be painfully shy....
it would almost hurt to talk to anyone
when I was in my younger years.
God changed that!!

God's Grace Overflows

I just LOVE to take pictures of almost every kind of flower
especially if they are next to old wooden fences!!

God's Grace Overflows

Sunsets are my absolute favorite!
Life's too short not to witness the
 Master Painter's views each evening!

God is so AMAZING isn't he??

God's Grace Overflows

Rainbows!!!
I just LOVE rainbows!!
Another sign of God's Beauty!!

Mountain rainbows are truly a sight to see!
I wonder if where that pot of gold is?

God's Grace Overflows

Since I LOVE to be in the Great Outdoors
I also LOVE to camp! In my fifth wheel of course.
I no longer tent camp.... lets just say bears!
No further explanation needed, right?

My mom got this for me as a gift one year and
 I wear it proudly while up camping!!

God's Grace Overflows

And last but certainly not least...
My LOVE for Jesus!!

He is my whole world and I am so glad
 He found me over 20 years ago!
He saved me and redeemed me and made me His daughter.
Boy have I been changed into something pretty special.

Thank you Jesus!!

Well...there you have it.
Did you learn something new about me today?

I sure hope so, cause this was a long post!!

Until next time....Thanks for stopping by!
I love that you stop in to say Hello!

Have a great March!!!

Hugs to you,
Amy

Scripture Cards...

A few years back my mom in law had
 made me these sweet little scripture cards.
I love how cute and colorful they are.
I have these cards placed through out my home
as they remind me how gracious the Lord is.

Over the years, I have made and added new
 ones to my special treasure box.

I love that we can be creative and
 use our thoughts and ideas.

I started writing a prayer journal.
I love to look back and see all the prayers
 that I have had answered.
Of course there are some that are still
 looking for that answer too.
(Smiles)

I think it would be a good idea to
make some of those prayers
onto these little cards as it will remind me to
 pray over those little prayers daily.

All you need is some cute stock paper,
 stickers, glue or double sided tape
and some great little sayings, scriptures
or prayers to type or write out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Onto other news:
It has been frigid here the passed few days.
We got a wee bit of snow yesterday.
Brrr!!!
My oldest son started his college classes!
Yes, COLLEGE classes.
This mom is trying to take this all in.
Overwhelming at times, I'm not gonna lie...
You know, I don't have much to tell....
I'm trying to stay at home as much as I can
because well...I dislike town!
Haha!
Bet you never would of guess that one!
Still going strong with the Trim Healthy Mama.
I haven't dropped a lot of pounds, but I have noticed
 some inches melting away off my waistline.
I'm really not doing this plan for the weight loss,
I'm doing it to eat more healthier foods and less sugar.
So far, so good!
Okay I've rambled on long enough...
Have a good week!
Thanks for stopping by!!
HUGS,
Amy
