My Joys...

God's Grace Overflows

Just popping in real quick
to say Hello!

This blogging thing is getting harder and harder for me to do.
I'm not sure how much I'll get on, but you may see me more
on Instagram and Facebook these days.

Somedays, to actually sit physically at the computer, is really hard!

I have this thing called squirrel disorder and I have
been easily distracted by many things all at once!
Watch out, it is contagious!!

Any who, with December now here, I am oh so busy,
which I'm sure you are all too!

But I am so grateful to be busy...
Yes, busy can be so overrated, but non the less I am grateful.

The Joys of the Christmas season are wonderful.
I've been blessed with many great things.
I've had many gatherings all ready with friends and family.
Lots of sweet treats made to share.
Many days of laughter and cheer.
Watched a few sappy Christmas movies.
Watched several funny Christmas movies.
Wrapped many gifts.
Reading and enjoying the day with my boys!
Going here and going there.

I am so thankful for all these Joys!

And my biggest Joy of all is the love of Jesus Christ
and all that this holiday season stands for!

After all, Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for reading my blog,
it still means the world to me!

Hugs,
AMY

A Little This, A Little That...

God's Grace Overflows

Wow!  It feels like it's been forever since I've been on here!
And it's now Fall time.
Time flies when you're having fun, I guess...

Let's see where to start....

September was a blur!
We had so many things going on.
We finally got around to having a
Graduation Party for my son.
That was so much fun and so much work!

Then October rolled around and
it's been pretty busy too...

We got around to purchasing and
freezing green chilies for the year.

God's Grace Overflows
I just LOVE their bright green color!

God's Grace Overflows
We've been busy canning...
We made salsa!

God's Grace Overflows

We also canned homemade fruit syrup
 and cherry syrup!

God's Grace Overflows

We made strawberry freezer jam!
One of our favorites besides Plum Jelly...
(I'll be canning that here soon)

God's Grace Overflows

We've seen some AMAZING sunsets!

And last but certainly not least...
If you follow me on Instagram,
you know we went camping this last weekend
and woke up to snow
and these AMAZINGLY beautiful frozen Aspen leaves....

I have a ton more pictures from
our trip that I'll post next time.

Well, I've run out of things to say,
so I'll close for now...

Thanks so much for stopping by...

HUGS!!

Seasons Changing...

Well Hello There!

How are you?  I've been here and there and everywhere!
Summer came and went so fast.
I think I just blinked and it was gone!

The boys have been doing school for a month now.
My oldest has graduated from High School
and life is moving at a fast pace!

So, I thought I'd drop in and say a quick hello
before Winter arrives!
HA!

The leaves are starting to change
and some of the high countries have seen a dusting of snow.
We've gotten a few rain showers here and there.
And any more God gives us, is always a blessing.

I'm trying to enjoy all the flowers that are hanging around.
There is a coolness in the air,
which tells me seasons are changing....

As the new season welcomes us,
I try to take moments through the day
and just rest and enjoy the peace and tranquility around me.

So, as you go about your busy days
just remember to stop when you
can and enjoy the moment.
These seasons are fleeting....

This has turned out to be a very busy month for us
and it has only just begun.

Planning a late graduation party for my son.
Hunting season is here.
Lots of learning to do.
Taking part in home school activities.
Family coming for a quick visit.
Planning a few mini camping trips before the snow flies.
And many others things I'm sure will come up,
because they always do!

I hope you all have a great new season
and thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time,

AMY

Busy, Busy...

God's Grace Overflows

I'm Here! I'm Here!

Just thought I would pop in real quick and say HELLO!

May is a very busy month for us.

School is coming to a close and the little boys have 2 weeks left,
big boy is done with college classes until this Fall.

We are getting things ready for our
annual friends and family camping trip.
Memorial weekend fun!!

Every day I try to get things put in the camper,
so it's not so overwhelming before we go.

My hubby planted grass seed,
so I've been watering morning and night.
Plus, there's all the other things that need tending to.

We have had family home and that was
busy, busy for about 10 days.
We miss them all ready!

Mother's Day Barbecue and a relaxing day!

Vet appointment for our Daisy Girl.

Lots of errands have been ran and
many more to follow I'm sure. HA!

We have been praying daily as we are in a drought
and we are now inundated with grasshoppers!

Grasshoppers will eat and destroy anything in their paths.
So, as my mom in law was praying she asked for flocks of birds
to come in and eat the grasshoppers!
Guess what?  The birds have come!!
We've never seen so many birds on our property!
Thank you Jesus!

We are continuing to pray for these birds and for rain!!

The month of June is gonna be just as Busy, busy!

We are taking a family camping trip for over 10 days!!
We are gonna go exploring....
And we are so excited!!

God's Grace Overflows

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Until next time....

Hugs and Blessings,

AMY

Homemade Is Better...

Well Hello There!

Is it April all ready?  How can that be? It was just March.

Spring is here, or so they say.  How's that saying go
April showers bring May flowers?
I sure hope so!
We've gotten a few rain showers,
enough to keep the dust at bay for another day.
(Wink! Wink!)

The weather has been so unpredictable!
One days it's very warm,
the next day it's very cold.
I think it's confused!

We want Spring!!
And with Spring brings color and
warmth in the days and showers!

How has the weather been in your neck of the woods?

God's Grace Overflows

Any who...
I thought I would share a
yummy scone recipe.

As all of you know, I love scones.
They are so easy to make and
you can add just about any flavors
together to create a yummy treat.

They can be made gluten free or not.
As sweet as you want them or
with very little sweetness too.

Really....the possibilities are endless.

I've posted many scone recipes on my blog over the years
and today this one is just as good as the others.
Probably one of MY favorites!!

I mean who doesn't love
Fresh Cranberries and Oranges??

God's Grace Overflows

Orange Cranberry Scones

2 Cups Flour (Gluten Free Flours work good too)
1/3 Cup Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Stick Butter, cubed
1/3 Cup Sour Cream
1/3 Cup Orange Juice
1 Egg
Zest of 1 orange
1/4 Cup frozen Cranberries, chopped

Preheat oven 400 degrees.
With a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour,
baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
With a pastry cutter or your fingers cut in the butter
with the flour mixture until it resembles crumbs.
Add in the zest of the orange and then make a well at the
center of the mixture and add the orange juice.
Then add the egg and the sour cream, mixing together with a fork.
Stir in the chopped cranberries until combined.

Place the dough out onto a floured surface and form a round ball.
Cut in half. Take one of the half pieces of dough,
form a ball and roll it into a 3/4-inch thickness.
Cut each ball of dough into eight triangular slices.
Place triangles on the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
Drizzle with a simple frosting if desired.

Makes 16 scones

God's Grace Overflows

Personally homemade treats are better,
wouldn't you agree?

Plus when you make them,
you know what goes into them.
And you can pronounce all the ingredients!!
Now who doesn't love that?!

Wholesome yummy treats for your
 friends and family to enjoy.

Well, I've rambled on long enough...
I should go find something to do
 outside while it's warm out.

Until next time,
I hope you all have a great week!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY...

HUGS,

Mondays...A Fresh Start....

God's Grace Overflows

Mondays
Every time a new week comes around I am reminded of
the Scripture in Lamentations 3:22-23

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed
for His compassion's never fail,
They are new every morning
great is your faithfulness.

I love this scripture as it just goes to
show that God is truly for us.
He helps us get through anything
 that we might face.

Mondays seem so hard for me.
As I try to catch up on things
I might have pushed aside through the weekends.
When my hubby is home, my routine changes
to accommodate him and the chores that need done.

We work great as a team to get things done around our home.
The boys help when they can (which is often)
 and when it's nice outside,
we are outside!!

We have been doing a little remodeling
and upgrading our new camper.
So, that has been taking up a lot of my weekend time.

Once it's all finished,
I'll post some before and after pictures!

So, as Monday is here and that time change
really seemed to mess with my sleep
I feel a bit slower than usual.
Maybe turtle speed is more like it... Ha!

Any who, Monday is here and a new week has begun...
and I am so glad His Mercies are New Every Morning!

I saw this quote the other day and I just loved what it said!

I hope you find great comfort in the new week!

Thanks so much for stopping by....

Did You Know?...

Well Hello there!!
It's a new month and I'm inviting it with open arms!!
A clean slate perhaps...

I'm ready for something new and something fun!

How bout you?

I thought I'd try something a little new and fun on this post.
I thought I would tell you all a little about me.
Would you like that?

I don't think I've done anything like that ever on here
and you are all probably wondering who I really am.
Yes? No? Don't care?
Oh well...you get to take a glimpse anyways...
Ready?

God's Grace Overflows

I absolutely LOVE Sunflowers!!
They are such a happy flower!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to can!
Over the years I've canned jelly, jams, dill relish, green chilies,
potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fruit syrups, fruit butters,
chicken, beef, salsa, spaghetti sauce and a whole lot more!
Everything is made with LOVE!!
(Which is the key ingredient if you didn't know)

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE Cowboys and their Boots!
I'm a Boy Mom and I LOVE it!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE the color RED!!
Red is such a cheery color!
I love Red so much I painted my kitchen
and all my outdoor decor red!

Panda Bears are my favorite animal!
They are just so cute and cuddly.

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE Butterflies...
Need I say more?

God's Grace Overflows

I enjoy being in the great outdoors
especially with my favorite peeps!

I'm not much of a hiker, but since I'm a Boy mom
I do try really hard to keep up with them.
I'm a bit of a klutz, so some hikes I come back
with many bruises and scratches.
My hubby always calls me graceful...

I love to four wheel....
I've been on many four wheeling adventures!!
Too many to count!
And I'm NOT a thrill seeker
I just enjoy climbing a simple dirt or mud hill once in awhile.
But...let's just say some of these adventures
I had to pray my way through.
I'm still here, so God must have answered those prayers!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to fish!
Stream fishing is fast paced
and lake fishing is learning patience
(which I have a lot of)
I don't however like to take the fish off the hook!
No thank you!
Thank goodness for a hubby that doesn't mind helping me out!

God's Grace Overflows

Sometimes you just need to stand on top
of the world to get a better view!
I LOVE exploring!
(No this isn't me, I don't really like heights much)
Just ask my hubby...
I can get to the third step of the ladder and that's it, folks!
Heights and me= Nausea, panic...

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE to take scenic photos!
I'm getting quite good at my camera now too!!

God's Grace Overflows

I LOVE taking new roads! Breaking new trails!
These roads ALWAYS lead to adventures!!
Trust me on this one! Wink!

God's Grace Overflows

Aspens are my favorite trees!
They are so skinny and tall and so peaceful!
Just like me!!
I'm 6 feet tall and at times I can be peaceful.
HA!
I used to be painfully shy....
it would almost hurt to talk to anyone
when I was in my younger years.
God changed that!!

God's Grace Overflows

I just LOVE to take pictures of almost every kind of flower
especially if they are next to old wooden fences!!

God's Grace Overflows

Sunsets are my absolute favorite!
Life's too short not to witness the
 Master Painter's views each evening!

God is so AMAZING isn't he??

God's Grace Overflows

Rainbows!!!
I just LOVE rainbows!!
Another sign of God's Beauty!!

Mountain rainbows are truly a sight to see!
I wonder if where that pot of gold is?

God's Grace Overflows

Since I LOVE to be in the Great Outdoors
I also LOVE to camp! In my fifth wheel of course.
I no longer tent camp.... lets just say bears!
No further explanation needed, right?

My mom got this for me as a gift one year and
I wear it proudly while up camping!!

God's Grace Overflows

And last but certainly not least...
My LOVE for Jesus!!

He is my whole world and I am so glad
He found me over 20 years ago!
He saved me and redeemed me and made me His daughter.
Boy have I been changed into something pretty special.

Thank you Jesus!!

Well...there you have it.
Did you learn something new about me today?

I sure hope so, cause this was a long post!!

Until next time....Thanks for stopping by!
I love that you stop in to say Hello!

Have a great March!!!

Hugs to you,
Amy

Gimme Some Sugar...

Happy Weekend to you!

I thought I'd best get on here and do a
little Valentine inspired post!

After all, it is the LOVE month!
And my birthday!
💗
(Smiles inserted here)

Do you gals go all out for Valentine's Day or do
you just keep it simple and real?

We keep it simple,
with having boys they aren't into anything foo-foo or pink.
Now, if we did a camo theme, they'd be ALL in.
But, that ain't happening!!

The most requested thing my boys ask for
are my frosted sugar cookies.
So, I'll more than likely bake some
heart shaped cookies for the occasion!

When I was a kid, I hated that my
Birthday was on Valentine's Day.

No one ever celebrated my birthday, just Valentine's Day.
I felt ripped off... forgotten...
How Rude!!

Now, that I'm older, I get extra blessed.

I just celebrate all month long....

(And my oldest son's birthday is two days after mine)

So see...Party Month!!

Okay enough about me....

HA!

I thought I'd share a few of my posts on some easy DIY gifts
to share on this special day or really any special day
for that matter.

God's Grace Overflows

These walnut cranberry clusters are so yummy!
I make these often as they aren't overly sweet.

These little pillow hearts
were so much fun to make and easy too...

I absolutely LOVE this Lavender salve.
Probably one of my favorite DIY gifts.

I hope whatever you do,
you do it with LOVE!!

Have a delightful week &
Thank You so much for stopping by....
