A Little This, A Little That...

God's Grace Overflows

Wow!  It feels like it's been forever since I've been on here!
And it's now Fall time.
Time flies when you're having fun, I guess...

Let's see where to start....

September was a blur!
We had so many things going on.
We finally got around to having a
Graduation Party for my son.
That was so much fun and so much work!

Then October rolled around and
it's been pretty busy too...

We got around to purchasing and
freezing green chilies for the year.

God's Grace Overflows
I just LOVE their bright green color!

God's Grace Overflows
We've been busy canning...
We made salsa!

God's Grace Overflows

We also canned homemade fruit syrup
 and cherry syrup!

God's Grace Overflows

We made strawberry freezer jam!
One of our favorites besides Plum Jelly...
(I'll be canning that here soon)

God's Grace Overflows

We've seen some AMAZING sunsets!

And last but certainly not least...
If you follow me on Instagram,
you know we went camping this last weekend
and woke up to snow
and these AMAZINGLY beautiful frozen Aspen leaves....

I have a ton more pictures from
our trip that I'll post next time.

Well, I've run out of things to say,
so I'll close for now...

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Teach them to Cook...

Good Day!! How is your week treating you?

We are doing good here. Enjoying the warmth of the days
and trying to get outside when the wind isn't blowing.
Which...some days that is a challenge!

The weather is suppose to be in the high 70's
and then low 80's with wind...oh goody!  I can hardly wait!
(enter sarcasm here)

So, on days that the wind blows you to Kansas,
I try to find things to catch up on in the house
or I like to bake.

I love it when I find my helpers wanting
to bake or cook along side me.
I find great joy in it!

I'll let them create a special treat for the family to try
and sometimes we judge the meal or treat
for some good ol' fashion fun!
(like being on Chopped)
We  I watch a lot of cooking shows and of course
 the kids baking shows.
I love that there are kids that love to create through baking.

We've got to get inspired somehow....

Awhile back, I showed the boys how to make crepes.
We did a lot of laughing as we were trying
to master the flipping of the crepes.

Each one of them tried their hardest to
flip it without it landing on the floor.

Some, well....never made it back to the pan...

And others were airborne!

After many flips and flops,
we managed to get several made.

I must admit to you, that my oldest son
is now a pro at making crepes.
When he wants crepes, he makes them.
I gladly gave up that job,
They are a lot of work!
(Wink inserted here)

And after it's all said and done,
we spent time together creating something yummy
and making special memories!!

I think it's very important to teach our children how to
cook and to clean. We are giving them such a gift
that they can and will use daily!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I love the time spent with my boys.
I love to see the spark of creativity in them.

And oh boy, have I eaten some interesting food concoctions...
But, I wouldn't change any of it for anything!

Do your children like to cook in the kitchen with you?

I hope you all have a great week!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

It's The Little Things...

God's Grace Overflows

Well Hello!

I'm not sure, but as I type this the time
just seems to be zooming past.

I seriously can not believe
next week is Thanksgiving.

What?!

Thank goodness, I went to the store and picked up
what I needed, so I don't have to go back any time soon.
Because when I did go... it was MOBBED!!

It's been so busy here...
Family is here and looking for houses
as they are moving back to Colorado.

Having 8 extra people on the homestead
keeps it very busy!
Plus you add in 2 extra dogs and a cat!
Yeah...BUSY!

But, it's okay, cause they are moving closer!
And they found a house they loved about an hour from us!

So, happy to have them here!

So, lets see what else has been going on here,
if you follow me on Instagram you know my guys were hunting
like all of October.
(Smiles)

God's Grace Overflows

They took two extremely long trips and a short trip.
I went a few times and I am so glad I did.

Amazing Views, Amazing Sunsets, Family Time.
God's Glory everywhere on the mountain!

God's Grace Overflows

On this special day, we finally managed to find a herd of Elk
and was able to get a clear shot...
Well long story short and a very long night
we have Elk for our freezer!

God was so good to us!
He provided!

God's Grace Overflows

Now...on to Geese Hunting...
Yep, I'm pretty sure that's all we do around here is HUNT!
HA!
That's okay though...
my boys love it and they love being outdoors!

So, Goose hunting it is!

And last, but certainly not least...
THANKSGIVING is almost here!

So...enjoy your day full of Blessings!
Be Thankful, Be Blessed, Be Full!

Oh Look....PIE!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Easter Blessings...

Well, Easter is almost here...

The weather is beautiful!
I'm still praising and thanking God for the wonderful
 moisture we have received.
Our fields are turning green and
little speckles of Spring flowers are in bloom.

Easter preparations are being planned...
Something simple, yet delicious.

And we must have dessert!

Do you have Easter plans?

Easter is a time to give Thanks to Jesus
for all that He has done for us.

It's not just about the colorful eggs we dye
and all the Easter baskets we fill,
Easter has a bigger purpose.

Easter is about the one who died on the cross
for you and for me.

It's a time to celebrate!

It's a time to celebrate JESUS!!

Celebrate Jesus,
Celebrate the Risen Lord.
Celebrate Jesus,
Celebrate the Holy One.
He is risen,
And He lives forever more..
Celebrate His resurrection,.
Come on celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
Jesus is risen,
Death cannot stop Him..
He is the King of kings,.
And the Lord of lords.
Celebrate Jesus,
Lord of all.
By Lim Tianyi

He is not here: for he has risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:6

Thank you Jesus!
Thank you Jesus for loving us so much
that you died on that old rugged cross for us.

Thank you Jesus!

BE...

May you each be Blessed this Easter!

Thanks so much for stopping by....

Hugs & Blessings,

Creativity...

Do you like to color?
How about drawing?

My middle son loves to color!

He colors pictures for the residents
at my hubby's work.
(My hubby works at an Assisted Living Home.)

My son, loves to bring a smile to someone's face
and he even has a pen pal that he writes, draws
and colors her many pictures!

It's amazing to see and hear from the residents
when they have received one of my sons coloring pages.

He loves to color animals and of course anything outdoors!

The animals have to look realistic or forget it!
Ha!

A few years back my oldest did a Drawing through History course
and he learned to draw (and color) a viking boat.
I was so proud of him, for this course pushed him
to think outside the boat,I mean box!
(Smiles)

My youngest loves to give me little notes
and pictures that he drew.
Sometimes it will be a heart with us holding hands
or doggies like these above.

I will cherish these!

I love that it sparks creativity in my children!

At least twice a week, I'll have them set down and color
or draw something that goes with their lessons.

This is more for my two little guys!
The oldest, not so much...

Some days, I'll even set down and color with them!
I think it's relaxing!

Plus, these are special treasures that I save...

This sign hangs above our coat rack.
I think it's a true statement!

Bring on the Creativity! Have a colorful week!

Hugs & Blessings,

A Fragile Gift...

With Christmas almost here,  I wanted to share
a precious story I read in my Daily Bread devotional.
It's very fitting for the season we are in.
Enjoy!

************

When we give a fragile gift, we make sure it is marked
on the box that contains it.
The word FRAGILE is written
with big letters because
we don't want anyone to
damage what is inside.

God's gift to us came in the most fragile package:
A BABY.

Sometimes we imagine Christmas day
as a beautiful scene on a postcard,
but any mother can tell you it wasn't so.
Mary was tired, probably insecure.

It was her first child,
and He was born in the most
unsanitary conditions.
She "wrapped Him in swaddling cloths,
and laid Him in a manger,
because there was no room for
them in the inn."

A baby needs constant care.
Babies cry, eat, sleep
and depend on their caregivers.
They cannot make decisions.
In Mary's day, infant mortality was high,
and mothers often died in childbirth.

Why did God choose such a fragile
way to send His Son to earth?
Because Jesus had to be like us
in order to save us.

God's greatest gift came in the fragile
body of a baby, but God
took the risk because He loves us.

Wow...Just Wow!
The more I read this the more the tears flow!
Let us be thankful this Christmas season
for such an amazing gift,
Jesus...

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
2 Corinthians 9:15

Blessings to you and yours....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
