Leaning A New Hobby

Happy Thursday to you all!

It has been a very busy week here and I wanted to share it with you all.

I have learned how to Crochet, exciting I know!

A few weeks ago I told my mom in law that I wanted to learn how to Crochet.

She was so excited to teach me.

So, she grabbed her hook and some yarn and we watched a few You Tube videos and well,
lets just say it was interesting.
The first few times I tried to make the chain, my mom in law had to re-do for me.

The second attempt, I was laughing so hard
because we couldn't even get the first
 few rows off the hook.
It looked like a rats nest of a mess!~ Smiles~

Then, she told me not to be discouraged and loosen your tension!

Tension, what tension?!

So, after about a week of trying several times
and learning each step of crocheting and what yarns not to use,

I finally got one made!

And it only took me three hours to complete it.
I was a very dedicated gal here.
Nothing else got accomplished in the house, but I got my dish cloth done.
WooHoo!

Isn't it gorgeous?

What new hobbies have you been wanting to learn?

Well, I encourage each and everyone of you, to go out and learn something new.
It might surprise you how easy it can be!

Have A Great Day!

Blessings,
Amy

Amy, I am so glad that mom showed you. It's so much fun. For your first thing I think you did wonderful!! When I learned it was a big mess.
I have tried to teach Naomi and she pretty good at it. Hannah is asking for me to teach her now!

I love that color you choose. I am working on a scarf for Hannah for Christmas

I have some yarn just like that and I made a dishcloth out of it, too :) That's about the extent of my crochet ability. I made a baby blanket years ago, though. My daughter loves to crochet and has made a Swiffer cover, hairbows, scarves, hats, and gloves.

Amy,
I love your crocheting so much! It makes me feel happy and cozy to think of you there crocheting. It is kind of addictive. I love crocheting. I have learned a little knitting, and have made a few things with the knitting needles, but knitting is much more difficult to me. My mom thinks knitting is easier, but I did get to teach her to crochet about 10 years... she got addicted to making hot pads like me (I wonder if she still thinks knitting is easier?). My latest thing I am trying to learn is how to make a tea cozy by crocheting. I love all of your pictures on your side bar and love your hot pad picture... oh and by the way, I have 31 repins and 2 likes on your oatmeal bread that I pinned a little while back. Now I'm gonna pin some of these pictures.
Love ya,
Pam

Hi Amy,

I've just about always got a dishcloth on my needle!

They're great to give for gifts as well as to use yourself.

Blessings,

Dear Amy, thank you for visiting me at Heart for home-making : ). I love your crochet. Funnily enough, my daughter-in-law is crocheting exactly the same as you, but in a different colour. It is so relaxing to crochet. I do enjoy knitting too : )

Great job AMY!!! It isn't easy learning a new thing like that! I completely understand the difficulties! That is how I felt learning how to knit! But oh how satisfying it is when we get it huh?!!! Your cloth looks GORGEOUS! And you have very much inspired me to pick up a needle from Hobby Lobby and start crocheting again. I think it is a great stress reliever too :)

Thank you for your sweet and precious comment you left on my scone post. You always put the biggest smile of love on my face whenever you share with me... You are a sweetheart!!

Happy crocheting sweet friend!!!

Dear Amy,
I just love this post! You brought a big smile to my face. I too am a student of Roxy! She taught me when I was a little girl while we were attending our monthly Home School Ice Skating fun. After that I asked my mom if she could finish teaching me and she taught me and Elizabeth.
You are amazing, I don't know if I could learn something like that during the time of raising some busy boys! You teach me so much!

Love you so and can't wait to see what else you make with your crocheting!
