Doughnut Jewels...

God's Grace Overflows

Breakfast time is fun around our home.
Some days, I'll let the boys decide what they want for breakfast!

Now, that my oldest son is learning how to cook,
he helps me out quite a bit in the kitchen.
I made these yummy doughnut jewels a while back
and thought I would share my recipe with you all.

There's just something about a warm doughnut
I just can't resist!

Here's What you'll need:

Drop Doughnut Jewels

2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 cup veg. oil
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp.  vanilla
Oil (for frying)

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg until well blended.
Add oil, milk and egg and mix well.
Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil.
Fry until light brown on both sides, turning once.
Drain well on paper towel.
Roll your doughnuts into powdered sugar or a cinnamon sugar mixture.

Now, pour yourself a cup of hot coffee,
hot cocoa or a glass of milk
and ENJOY!

Where is that SMELL Button...

God's Grace Overflows

Tis the season for lots and lots of treats!

What did you make for Breakfast?

Hugs & Blessings,

We had breakfast burritos…. but I think I am wanting some of these in stead. They look delicious Amy. We still have the whole crew here, so I can use some ideas like this. Hope you are all doing well. Miss you all. Happy Fall and many blessings to all of you there.
Hugs,
Pam

Oh my! Such yumminess indeed! I can't decide if I would like the powdered sugar or cinnamon ones better... lol! I think it is great that your son is helping you in the kitchen, that makes a huge difference to have some help for sure! Have a blessed and wonderful day dear friend! :)

Hi Amy! Oh my gosh, these look AMAZING!! My grandchildren would love these. They do not like breakfast, and it's a battle to get them to eat anything in the morning (opposed to their Nana who loves breakfast!). I think rolling them in the powdered sugar would be the best. I'm going to copy this and print it out. They are coming for a visit this weekend!

What do I make for breakfast? Usually a egg-white omelet with low fat cheese. Boring, I know. But I really like it! When I was a young mom, oatmeal was a big treat. I'd put applesauce and raisins in it too, and the kids loved it. Pancakes always went over well too.
Happy Tuesday my friend. Hope school goes well, and the boys are learning more and more every day,
Blessings,
Ceil

I remember those days of little ones helping in the kitchen. Such great moments of learning together. I have made something similar as your recipe only I cheated and used canned biscuits, quartered each one and dropped them into the hot oil, then rolled them in a cinnamon sugar mixture. I was all about saving time but this recipe sounds much tastier!
