Joy...

Hello Friends!

How was your Thanksgiving?
Did you eat too much?

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful.
Very simple and very enjoyable.

It's nice when you don't have to cook all day
and you can really enjoy the day,
the moments, the blessings.

I was told by my boys that
 Christmas is in 28 days!!

What?!
That will be here in a blink of an eye!

I've slowly started pulling
 Christmas decor out...
I think we will be putting up
 the tree this weekend.

My nephews Birthday is this month
and so is my son's!!

So we are just gonna celebrate all month!

Lots to do!!
(smiles)

Did you know if you looked up the
word Joy in the bible it's
listed 88 times in the Old Testament
and 57 times in the New Testament?

The definition of the word Joy is:

To experience great pleasure or delight.

The emotion to evoked by well being,
success, or good fortune
or by the prospect of possessing
 what one desires.

Taking delight
.
*******

We should always find a reason to be joyful!

There are many ways to be joyful:

Joy isn't just a smile or a laugh.

Joy is something that is deep
within and doesn't leave quickly.

When we have the Joy of the Lord,
we'll know it and so will others.

Since Joy is given by God and it's something that
 He wants us to have,
We need to be Joyful!!

In addition to being joyful,
we should let others have their
joy and not bring them down when
they are excited about good thing.

The only things worse than not having joy
 is stealing someone else's!

Spending each day in God's Word is pure JOY!

God Let's us have
Blessings every single day!

God's Holy Spirit
 produces Joy!

Did you know Joy is the second
 "Fruit of the Spirit"?
Galatians 5:22
Joy!

Wow....

Reading the scriptures will
 bring us great JOY!

And these things we write to you
that your JOY may be full!
1 John 1:4

Yes...Please!

If we can't find reasons to be Joyful,
maybe our perspectives need to change?

God gives us the Blessings every day.
Ask for Joy!

It is Joy for the just to do justice,
but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.
Proverbs 12:20

Consider it pure Joy, my brothers and sisters,
whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces
perseverance.
James 1:2-3

Clap your hands, all you nations;
shout to God with cries of Joy.
Psalms 47:1

May the God of hope fill you with all
Joy and Peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflows with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

I don't know about you,
but I think I will choose JOY!

Have a blessed day..week..month!

Hugs to you,

Yes please, I'll choose joy! :) We put our tree up on Friday and decked the halls. Now there is shopping, wrapping, programs and of course baking to be done. I am going to try hard to not let my joy be stolen in the hustle and bustle of the season.

A beautiful post, Amy. We have lots of birthdays this month, too....and my sil was born on Christmas Day!
I always choose Joy even though sometimes it seems elusive-but I think sometimes we have to find joy in just the smallest moments when life seems to overtake us with serious matters. Blessings to you and your sweet family- ox Diana

This was a very timely post as Joy is a powerful gift from the Lord, but we must actively choose it! I must say that woe to us if we do steal another persons joy...
Enjoy this season and the cozy nights and take joy in your upcoming baking and take pleasure in it all!
You're a JOY my dear!
Hugs, Roxy
