Cooking Class with Clayton

I have been teaching my oldest son Clayton the basics of cooking for about 2 months now.
At first he was not interested at all (like most boys his age aren't) but I felt like he was at that age where he needs to start learning new things, such as cooking and cleaning up after himself.  It seems as though most young adults now days have no desire to work, clean, cook or do anything for that matter.  So, I did what any mom would do..... First I prayed and asked God for Creative Wisdom on how to teach my son the fun ways of cooking.  After grumbling and mumbling for the first month, I got him to cook a meal.
Something simple and one of his favorites!

I hope you enjoy it too!!

BBQ Chicken Tacos

You will need:

1/2 cup  Barbecue sauce
1/3 cup Corn, drained
1 pkg. chicken breasts cooked and sliced
8 flour tortillas
Shredded lettuce
Shredded cheese
Diced tomatoes

In a large sauce pan, combine cooked chicken, barbecue sauce and corn. Mix well.
Warm up your flour tortillas, put a scoop of the chicken mixture on the tortilla and load it up with the lettuce, chesse and tomatoes.

This young man will be well prepared. It is so important to teach real life skills to our children.
Good Job Clayton!

I love seeing Clayton cooking. Nathan started cooking just about that age... we used to do a once a week cooking, and the kids took turns, they got to pick out what they wanted to make, and they loved it.... they all enjoy cooking to this day. You tell Clayton that I am looking forward to tasting one of those barbecue tacos of his. They look wonderful. Perhaps one of those zucchini muffins from the previous post could accompany that meal... I am thinking yum, yum!
Love Pam

I am getting so hungry just reading this recipe! I love how your are teaching Clayton how to cook! His wife is going to thank you ;)
I remember when my mom had us four kids choose a day out of the week to cook a dinner and a dessert and I couldn't believe the honor of actually choosing a recipe and a dessert all by myself. I remember the dessert I chose, it was a grasshopper pie which I marveled over.

Love you and how you
