DIY Laundry Soap...

Have you ever tried making your own laundry soap?

My youngest son's skin is really sensitive to a lot
of the powdered soaps from the store, so
we always bought the liquid soaps.

Just the other day, I was browsing at Do It Yourself
Laundry Soaps and came across this one
and thought, Hmm... this one is different than all the
other recipes out there.

So, I bought all the stuff and only spent $22.00
And, this recipe said it would make a year supply!!

So, who doesn't want to at least give it a try?
For that price?  YES!!

So, here's what you do:
Grab a big trash bag and pour everything in it.

( I cheated and bought the Zote's Soap all ready grated)

Here's what it looks like all mixed up.
Thanks you to my oldest son for shaking it all up for me!
(insert smiles here)

Now, pour it into a pretty glass jar!
( I ended up with this jar full and another one 3/4 full)

And, here you go....
Ready to wash, wash, wash!

DIY Laundry Soap

1 box Zote's Soap (It's all ready grated, Yay!)
or 3 bars Fels Naptha, grated

1 box Borax (76 oz.)

1 box Washing Soda (55oz.)
2 cups Baking Soda

2 containers of Oxyclean (you can find this at your Dollar Tree Store)

2 containers of Purex softener crystals, any scent

Mix everything in a large trash bag
and store in a jar or plastic container.

For Laundry:
Use 2 Tbsp. of laundry soap per load

I have been using this soap for 3 weeks now
and my son or anyone else for that matter
have no signs of itchy skin or rashes.

It really does make your clothes soft
and they smell like lavender fields!!

You just can't go wrong, really...

I hope you all consider giving it a try
and if it even lasts for 6 months, I'd be happy!!

Have a terrific day!

Hi Amy,
I love homemade laundry soap. It is a joyful, clean and delightful smelling project. It is really a favorite thing for me. I love that you have made it. I am enjoying reading your recipe… there is always a new idea to be learned. Love the post Amy. I feel inspired to make up a new batch myself. My next experiment is the liquid.. haven't done it yet, but keep meaning to.
Love and Blessings,
Pam
