Mornings With Jesus...
I love getting up and having a moment where I can talk with Jesus.
I start the tea pot and I open up my bible
and I just start reading His Word.
Do you ever feel like His words start jumping off the pages?
When I feel like they are, then those are the scriptures I start with.
I love all the stories that is being shared through out the bible.
What an amazing time that must have been for Jesus!
I have been doing an online bible study through the Doorpost Blog
and I really like how she brings the scriptures alive!
When I'm not studying with the online study group,
I do my own bible lesson and use all the tools that
I have learned throughout the online study..
I highlight and draw pictures in my bible next to those key scriptures!
Those drawings show me the scriptures that really stand out.
I have a notebook, pens and coloring pencils ready to use.
And now I am ready to start digging into God's Word!
Talk about jumping off the page studying!
I have several devotionals that I use
and I love that I can dig through all
their scriptures within the devotionals.
That's a study all on it's own!
Some mornings,
I take longer because God is showing me amazing things!
What kind of devotionals do you use?

There is no better way to start your day! Thank you for the inspiration :)
Good morning,Amy. I too start each morning with reading God's word. I find my day goes better and if I don't find that time early, I get busy and I feel like I've missed something or someone like my time with my Lord. I learn something new each day. I do use Our Daily Bread or Dr.Charles Stanley's devotionals but mostly just open my bible and start reading.
This is just so precious Amy. I love to start my day this way also (except with coffee :) ) I also have a journal that I am drawing and writing my scriptures in. I just love it, and it makes me feel fully engaged in the word and satisfy my hearts creative longings. Have a lovely week and a beautiful Passover and Resurrection Sunday.
Love and Blessings,
Pam
So very, very true Amy! Years ago I began to set aside time each morning with the Lord, and the Word. I keep a journal in which I write as well. My favorite devotional is Oswald Chambers "My Utmost for His Highest", and also one by Mrs. Charles Cowman "Streams in the Desert". These aren't "feel good" devotionals, but devotionals that get inside your heart and turn it upside down with truth. The Word of God is so powerful that even a scripture you've read many times can take on new light and become your bread for the day. I never cease to be amazed at the power that can light on my soul just by being in the word, and spending time in prayer with the Lord. May the Lord continue to bless you greatly, and pour out His spirit in abundance in your life! :)
