"Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law."
Psalms 119:18
You've heard the joke in regards to marriage: A wife asks her husband if he loves her. He answers her, " Of course." She then asks why he never tells her he loves her. He answers, "I told you I loved you twenty years ago and I never change my mind." Really?!!
Good marriages need words of affection repeated. Often.
Similarly, we need to hear from God every day.
The bible is filled with insights, so when we sit down to read it, often we encounter something brand new for our spiritual life. But sometimes the very same words, containing the very same truth, can be a brand new reality we hear for the very first time-even though we have heard it a thousand times before. As you open the pages of God's Word, do so with an open heart and a sense of anticipation.
God has something FRESH and NEW to say to you!
When you read God's Word, you must constantly be saying to yourself,
"It is TALKING to ME and ABOUT ME!!"
Have a great week!
Many Blessings,

Amen! Wonderful words, Amy :) Thank you for sharing this and thank you for your visit to my blog. Your comment was such a blessing to read. May you have a delightful week.
Hugs and blessings!
Amy, I believe you are going to write books some day.
This is very good. Loved the reference to the husband saying "I told you I loved you twenty years ago"... haha.
good analogy in our relationship with the Lord and His
word... and likewise it is true we do need to hear it everyday.
Love and Blessings,
Pam
Hey, Just for the record I want to hear from my hubby daily that he loves me! But it must be said from the heart not just a saying we use.
Also, I love it when the Holy Spirit teaches me a new truth as I study and read the Word. For the Word is alive.... Amen!
Blessings, Roxy
Love the analogy! I remember my Dad telling me that God's Word is like a treasure chest, the more you dig into, the more treasure that you are rewarded with. One verse can have different levels of meaning for us, as we grow, so does our understanding, His Words become richer and sweeter to us, don't they?
Oh, this is so true! So many times I've gone to a familiar verse and the Holy Spirit has revealed something new and life-changing.
Thank you for sharing this!
And thank you for visiting today.
I so appreciated your comment!
Blessings to you ~ Mary
Hi Amy! It is so true that God's word is for us today, not just addressed to the ancients.
He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. And he does use people (like you!) to remind us of him.
Great post!
Peace in Christ,
Ceil
A perfect word indeed. We all need daily refills of the Holy Spirit and the Word!
Blessings from Harvest Lane Cottage,
Laura
